Laura's Master thesis & buzz around her project
In 2021, while at the Design Academy Eindhoven, Laura came up with the idea of acupressure clothing. This innovative idea was inspired by Dr. Bessel van der Kolk's work, which advocates for holistic, body-based therapies to help patients recover from trauma. The initial prototype, a body suit named Healing Imprint, has been featured in numerous design magazines such as Frame, Dezeen, and trend research websites such as LSN Global. Exhibiting Laura's design project at trade fairs and events, including Dutch Design Week 2021 and Munich Fabric Start 2022, enabled the project to reach over 30,000 visitors, earning it overwhelming praise and positive feedback.
